7A  Math We are completing our study of  graphing linear equations and concept of slope

Test Wed. May 14 on chapter 8 concepts of 8.1, 8.2 8.3.  Then we will continue our study of geometry dealing primarily with area formulas for area of parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, circles and irregular figures.

 

 

7AA Math  We are completing our study of  rates, ratios, percents, and proportions.   We will be testing on the concepts of chapter 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, 6.7 on Wed May 14.  Then we will continue our year long study of geometry dealing primarily with the formulas for area of parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, circles and irregular figures.

 

 

7AAA Math   We are completing our study of  ratios, rates, percents and proportions.  We will test on concepts 6.1- 6.4 on Wednesday May 14  We will continue our study of geometry dealing primarily with the concepts of area of parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, circles and irregular figures.

 

 

8^th grade Literature

 

We are reading and discussing the novel Across Five Aprils - a story of a family of the l860’s that is torn apart by the Civil War.  This novel selection coordinates with the study of the Civil War and the projects that the 8^th graders are creating in Social Studies class.

 

8^th grade Language Arts

 

Students are researching and taking and organizing notes for a short term paper on the presidency of a selected President of the United States.

   

 

While this school year is coming to a rapid end, we still have many things to learn and do.

 

7^th graders are assuming leadership roles for the school year 2008-2009.  The 7^th graders are in charge of the morning Titan broadcast and the school safety patrol.  We have an enthusiastic list of volunteers for these positions.  Student Council officers will be elected for the new school year in the next few weeks.  Many officer positions are open to the 7^th graders.
